The Birketts Shipping and International Trade Team is based in Suffolk with strong international connections - 90% of our instructions come from non-UK clients. Specialising in all areas of shipping both ‘dry’ (charterparty disputes, cargo claims) and ‘wet’ (salvage and collisions) as well as transport and logistics, the team’s aim is to deliver dispute resolution services with a City level of expertise without the City prices. Many of the senior members in the team started their careers in City firms.

The team has extensive language skills, including Mandarin, Cantonese, French, Spanish, German, Russian, Korean and Japanese and a wealth of experience in advising ship owners, charterers, P&I and cargo insurers in the Far East, Middle East, India and throughout the European markets.
